TIARA THORNELLS Before I could even make it down the first flat landing of the staircase, in my rush, I suddenly twisted my ankle. The sharp pain caught me off guard and I lost my balance. I rolled once and landed hard on the cold stone floor, my body curling inward as I gasped. My breathing was slow and shallow, but my heart was pounding so wildly that it felt like it wanted to burst out of my chest. Trembling, I forced myself to rise, trying to steady my breath and keep myself from panicking. I hadn't gotten far from the top of the tower, where Prince Dawn's room was.
