I was expecting this to happen—the eyes of the lycans looking at Aris with so much hatred and hostility. I can see how they abhor her presence, and she could not just do anything but hide her little body behind me. I can feel her hands shaking while it grips the hem of my cloth. I looked down at her and gave her a reassuring smile. “Don’t worry, I’ll handle this,” I whispered to her before facing the others again.
