Althea’s words rang in Brent’s head like a radio on replay. At sa bawat pag-alingangaw nito sa isipan niya ay ang pagtindi ng sakit na kanyang nararamdaman. But what made his pain more painful is the fact that he wasn’t able to fight for her; that he wasn’t able to stand for what he truly feels. He was so selfless that he didn’t give a dàmn about what he truly feels—mas inuna niya ang kapakanan ng iba; ang kaligayan nila, and he was left to suffer and crumble in silence.
“Congrats. That’s…That’s good to hear,” aniya at pilit na ngumiti. He tried his best to smile just to cover the pain that’s breaking him apart inside.
