An awkward silence suddenly fell between Alpha Gray and me. All I could hear was the music and the laughter of the celebrating pack members inside the reception hall, accompanied by the loud and rapid beating of my heart.
"Let's get back to the reception hall. The pack members will surely be confused if we both disappear without a word." Alpha Gray's voice cut through the silence.
I nodded and didn't argue with him. I was tired and weak. My body was still recovering from the punishment he had given me the other day, and if I had a chance to rest, I'd take it.
