SYDNEY With every word Alpha Gray spoke, I locked eyes with him, projecting strength and pretending to be okay. However, the façade cracked with each ache and pain that coursed through my bruised and battered body, a testament to the merciless punishment he gave me and the vicious attacks from his pack members that followed. Alpha Gray stepped closer to me. His eyes were cold and detached but never left my face, as if he were trying to read what was on my mind. "As acting Luna of my pack, it's your duty to take care of this room and follow anything that I say," he said, his voice firm. Even though my mind was protesting, I forced myself to nod and agree with him. “I don't hear anything from you, Sydney!” I swallowed the lump in my throat and forced myself to respond to his question.
