I waited outside the Mayor’s office. Dinalhan ako ng inumin at magazine ng babaeng sekretarya. Kahit papaano ay nalilibang ako sa paghihintay kay Jandro.
He didn’t want me to go anywhere without his presence. Halata kay Mayor Roque ang personal nitong pakay sa kanya kaya nagsabi akong magpaiwan kina Gerry pero mariin siyang umiling. Everyone saw his disapproving reaction and he didn’t care even if the Mayor noticed that too. He added by giving me his dark-serious slit of eyes to tell me that he wasn’t in favor of my suggestion.
