After the holy wedding, I was told that another wedding would happen inside the Empire's golden hall where we had to seal our marriage by signing a piece of paper.
"We are here, your highness." They lead me down a narrow hall into a small room. I was so nervous for some reason. But to my surprise, there's only one person inside-- a court official.
"Welcome, your imperial highness. I am Diego Salvani, the empire's lawyer. Please sign the contract and you may go and rest now.
"But the 4th Prince? Shouldn't he be here?" I asked.
"He was here an hour ago to sign the contract, your imperial highness." I look at the paper and there I saw his name and seal.
My shoulder dropped, head bent as I feel my body started to tremble. "I do apologize, your imperial highness. Please don't cry. The 4th Prince is just busy, so he hurried here to put his seal and…" What is this man bubbling about? Who's sad?
"Teehee! Who's sad?" I giggled as I raised my head to look at him with mockery. My giggle turns into laughter as I bite my thumb to my lips. I saw how shocked the lawyer was in front of me as blood started to flow from my thumb. "Signed with my royal blood." I grinned after I put my bloody thumb into a piece of paper just above my name. The lawyer drops his pen, the ink scattered through the linen cloth of the table. He must be so surprised.
"Are we done now?" I asked. He stuttered and nod his head in approval.
"Alright! Servant, bring me to my palace." I commanded, but received no answer. So I look back only to find out that there's no one.
"Uh, the prince said you'll not be given any servant." I just took a deep breath. What do I expect?
"Bring me to my Palace then," I said.
"Uh, there's no palace as well, your imperial highness." I shut my eyes in annoyance. It was like the last string of patience just cut off.
"Call Magnus." I coldly said.
"P-pardon, your imperial highness?" Diego's iffy face flashes before me as he slowly steps forward.
"I said, call the fourth prince." I tried my best to remain calm in front of this man. "The Prince! My husband! Call him." I snap and he jolted.
"My apologies, your imperial highness, but the prince is not someone you can steer around and also not to be called with such disrespect." he bowed his head.
"Well, not with me. I know no royalty." I coldly said, and dragged my plain white dress and went outside of the courtroom.
Diego Salvani
"Salvani, Salvani." I hardly swallowed as I've heard the 4th Prince's cold voice. Every time I'm in front of him, it feels like I am about to die.
"Here, your imperial highness." Even with my head down, I could sense his anger.
"So you're saying that you couldn't handle a woman, Salvani?" I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. She's not just an ordinary woman, your imperial highness. She's your wife!
"I seek for your forgiveness, your imperial highness!" I almost scream as I drop to the floor in front of him.
"Where is she?" His tone lowered a bit.
"I rather not tell your imperial highness. But, I wish you to see it for yourself." I suggested.
"f**k!" The 4th prince cursed as he saw his wife kneeling in front of the Grand Palace where the Emperor resides. She was holding a signboard written, No discrimination!
His imperial highness hurriedly walks towards her with such long steps. He grabbed her arms and look directly into her eyes. They're a bit far away that I could not hear what they were saying to each other, but based on their expressions-- I could tell there's a war starting to build up. I held my breath when the door of the Grand Palace opened and there comes his imperial majesty, the Emperor. I slightly massaged my forehead in pain and disbelief-- such a troublesome couple.
Cassiopeia
"Presumptuous." A pair of black leather shoes draw my attention as I was kneeling in front of the grand palace with a signboard in my left hand. Its deep cold voice freezes the air around us. I look up at him only to find a Magnus in his ankle-length slim-fitted gray trousers and vest layered waistcoat.
"What?" I said as I shrugged my shoulders and looked away from him.
I heard him hiss, "What do you mean by what?" I hissed back and looked at him sarcastically.
"What do you mean by what do I mean by what?" I look away again after raising my eyebrows at him. I was surprised when he grabbed my right arm. I saw how veins formed in his left hand through his folded sleeves. I just realized how tall Magns in front of me was when our eyes met. I needed to look up at him and he still needed to bend towards me.
"Stop playing with words, Princess. I am not a gentleman." He whispered. He grabbed my signboard and ripped it into pieces. "Now tell me what you want." He added.
"I never knew how nosy royals are. So you wanna help?" I said without blinking an eye. I saw how he frowned. "Stop being a psycho and act appropriately with me." He asked with a baffled look.
"Psycho?" His eyes narrowed as his lips pulled into a smirk. "Psycho, huh?" He mimicked as his grip tightened.
He let go of me. I gently rub my aching arm as he turned my back on me. He took a step forward away from me before exerting a sudden turn before facing me again. I was taken aback when he bends towards me.
"Now tell me what you really need. You are wasting my time." He said as he stood straight, still looking down on me.
"Give me back my people. Lin and Hera or else…"
"Or else what?" his brow rises.
Just then, the door of the Grand Palace opened and the Emperor came out. I threw a meaningful gaze towards the Emperor and back at him.
"What?" His cold voice is terrifying. I need to be tough to win over this situation.
"I will tell the emperor how you're treating me." I threatened him. I tightly closed my eyes when he raised his hand. I'll be slapped. I'll be beaten!
I slowly opened my eyes when I heard his echoing laughter. His long slender fingers brushed his black straight hair. Then, finally, he stops laughing and looks at me with an intimidating gaze. "All of this for such trivial stuff? Your request will be granted, but don't ever repeat these stunts with me. I will never spare you like today." I know he's threatening me. But, no, it isn't just a simple threat but a warning.
I was left dumbfounded as he turned his back on me. Then, he walked towards the Emperor with his hands on his back. I saw his fingers hinting me to go away. So, I stamped my feet to stop my knees from trembling. Then, the lawyer from a while ago came.
"Please come with me, your imperial highness." He said, full of politeness. I took a deep breath as I followed him.
