The Past - I
His figure moved slowly, taking small slow steps towards the open window of my lady’s bedroom. The window was on a lower level from where we were, so he could easily enter it. He’d have to get through me first. I felt the leaves get crushed under my feet as I walked closer to him, he kneeled down to open the window when I quickly pulled him back to his feet crushed his body onto the wall and placed the knife on his neck pricking the skin a little just as a warning. “Wait, wait, wait, it’s not what you thinking. I was just trying to-“He held his hands up blabbering on until his eyes fixed onto my face “What the-.” He dropped his hands. “You’re a woman” the shock evident in his voice. I placed my knee on his man parts and pressed hard, I adjusted the knife on his neck purposely cutting a little bit more skin to show him just how much of a woman I really am. He raised his hands back up clearly getting the message, “Woah woah okay okay.” The stupid dress I was wearing however made it difficult to keep my knee up with him being so tall. I couldn't let him see that I was losing my composure so I pressed harder on his men-parts which helped keep me steady too. “I promise I was just looking around I had no intentions of doing anything, there isn’t anybody in the room anyway, I was just-.” Just as he said that my dress slipped and my knee fell off leaving him open to move. He just as quickly turned us around with me being the one now pinned to the wall. The brutal force knocked the air out of me and for a second I lost my control and he pushed the knife away from my hand. He smiled confidently and pulled my hands above my hands his face inches away from mine. “You do not go near my lady’s chambers, you do not go into any chambers for that matter,” I fought him off but he seemed stronger than I initially anticipated. “You do not get to tell me what to do.” He looked down at me, he was really quite a tall man well built with a strong air of masculinity floating around him if I had been weaker I would have cowered just from his appearance alone. I tried to struggle, “Hush hush now little dove, I won’t hurt you,” I tried again to but he lifted my arms and pushed me once more against the wall. “What is it that you want, who are you?” I struggled to speak “Well my dear little dove I’m actually here for you. It seems like fate has brought us here together. I am Jonas of Manducray,” he dipped his head lowering it close to my neck and whispered intimately, “that’s Prince Jonas to you.” He pecked my neck with a soft kiss. I took his distracted moment to slam my knee onto his midsection and elbow the side of his head hard enough to knock him aside. “And I am Anatalia Bayani warrior of the Aourterde kingdom, my lady’s hand and guard.” I said standing above him. “And no harm shall come to her so long as I live.” Not believing his blatant lie about fate. He slowly got up supporting himself on one knee. He spit some blood out of his mouth and wiped the blood from his nose. Unfortunately this man was sneaky and he managed to pull my dress hard enough to bring me to the ground. I yelped but surprisingly the man decided to catch me before my head plummeted to the ground. “My little warrior dove, so mighty you are.” “Are you mocking me? How dare you speak in s-.” but before I could finish off my speech he plastered his plumb lips to mine and dare I say it was a kiss of my life. Perhaps he speaks the truth and it is faith that has brought us together. ---- “My queen the flower arrangements have arrived should I arrange them on the tables” “Yes, Jen please do get the other maidens to assist you our guests are to arrive soon and we seem to not have the place ready as of yet. You know what do not bother yourselves with clothes for the table, rather start placing the plates and cups for drinks on the tables, make sure all the wine is poured and ready to be served and the cook, where is the cook?” I passed around the big hallway looking for Alessandria. She had not arrived with the food as yet. Without realizing I bumped into my husband, “oh my dear pardon me I am so sorry I didn’t see you,” “It is rather I that should be apologizing to you, for putting such a daunting task on my Queen.” I hushed him for even thinking of saying such. “Tell me how is it going, do you think we will be ready in time? I heard our guests have crossed the boarders, they are soon to reach the palace” “Yes I do think that we shall be done by then, the men are placing up the jasmines, I decided to use our native flowers so to promote ourselves and of course for the lovely scent that they give off so they are being pinned up as we speak, the tables are being set, now I just need to find our cook. The usual meat, soup and bread are being served as requested from our respectable guests,” I rolled my eyes at this part thinking about Arial, only she would make requests on what to serve them when they come. Jedidiah pulled my chin at that, but I knew he felt the same about her. “and I made her mix the pitaya and milk for after we eat, the north-east had sent a large pot of honey as a gift so I thought we could make that special drink, wouldn’t that be nice it’s been ages since we last had pitaya milk. Wouldn’t you agree my king.” Jedidiah merely laughed at me, “I think the little one growing in you has your mind mixed up. We had it not a month gone by my Queen.” He pinched the bridge of my nose and kissed my forehead. “My Queen I have arrived, my sincere apologies the kitchen was a ruckus this morning but all is sorted I have brought and done everything as you have requested it.” Alessandria came rushing towards us. I nodded, “Well duty calls my king.” I turned to kiss him goodbye but he refused to let me go. “Alessandria, please make sure the guests plates are placed next to ours, they will arrive with their two sons. I want two large platters of fruit, make sure the maids know to keep the wine coming. Now if you would excuse me I’ll take my beautiful wife upstairs with me for she has worked tremendously hard at this and is in need of a break.” He bent down to swoop my legs off the floor and carried me up the stairs to our bedroom. “What kind of king swoops his Queen like that in front of all of his subjects?” I scoffed at him. “The kind that is utterly, devastatingly and most desperately in love with his wife. Who, I’ll let you know,” he opened our door to our room and let us inside, “happens to be the most beautiful woman in the whole entire East side.” He lays me down on to the bed and lays down next to me. I touch his check caressing him and falling in love once again with the light brown eyes that has shown me nothing but love since we first met. I lowered my head to meet his that was already approaching for a kiss, but I stopped half way when I heard a noise. “What is that?” We turned to look around but it wasn’t coming from the room. The noise became louder and I soon realized it’s a lady screaming, my first thought was that she was in danger until I realized it was not that kind of screaming. I turned to look at Jed when a man’s loud grants were heard, he too soon realized it and started laughing. “Is that?” I asked which only made him laugh even more. The noise seemed to be coming from outside my window. Jedidiah wanted to go check who the pair was but I told him not to. “If they wanted privacy, then they wouldn’t be doing it next to our window. Come on my queen, let us see who the culprits are.” I tried to pull him back but instead he pulled me with him. We crouched down to the window the faced the higher side of the garden and pulled the thick curtains apart. A young man with his back faced towards us had a lady bent over the garden bench and was, sure enough, making her cry out in sheer pleasure. We did not recognize the young man but something seemed familiar about the lady. “Who do you think that is?” Jedidiah asked me. “I do not know but I think we have seen enough come on,” I stood up and pulled at him to stand up too, “oh good grace.” Jed exclaimed before he started laughing again, “What?” I crouched down again and saw what he saw. The young lady with the long hair dark as night dressed in a blue dress and a knife strapped to her upper thigh was none other than my closest friend and guardian Anatalia. My mouth hung wide from the surprise, I tried to look away but could not. Jedidiah was now on the floor clutching the side of his stomach as he laughed. I always knew Anatalia was a wild one but never had I thought I would get to see her with her legs wide open in my upper garden. I slid down to the floor trying to clear my head of the scene. “Jed, I can not erase it from my memory.” I told him feeling disturbed by the thought more and more. He came to sit next to me and held my hands, “Why don’t you look at it this way, when you go to give birth she too would have to sit and watch you with your legs wide open.” I smacked his arm. “Jed that is not the same thing.” He continued laughing A soft knock came from our door “Enter” Jed called out and we both stood up to go see who it is. “Markus good day. What news do you bring me?” “My king the guests you had told us about are arriving, they are a few minutes away from the gates.” We nodded. “That’s good we shall be down stairs in a minute to come greet them.” Markus then turned to address me, “My Queen I got news from Clarissa, she says your guest has awoken.” he notifies me. My heart skips a beat, finally she has awoken. “Thank you Markus. Inform her to run a bath for the lady and give her a pair of new clothing and food. I shall meet with her after the guests have settled.” Markus bows down and turns to leave. “Is that the same lady you found outside those few days ago?” Jed asks me “Yes, I thought she was dead, but Clarissa said she was just terribly hurt, I’m glad to hear that she has awoken. I wonder where she came from.” During my daily walks two nights ago Clarissa and I had found a lady with long white hear laying in the forest. She looked like she had come from war, her clothing were tattered, dirtied with blood and mud from the ground she lay. I had thought she died, Clarissa being a healer somehow figured out that she was alive. The lady was badly injured but nothing fatal and just needed a few of Clarissa’s medicinal herbs to get back to good health. I was worried at first due to the white hair, she was far too young so it wasn’t due to age, but until I properly speak to her I shall not know if she is a threat or a friend to us. Jedidiah took my hand into his and lead us out to greet our guests, the royal family of the of South East Kingdom the Manducrays.
