"Watch your step," I whisper shouted at my best friend, Declan who nearly tripped off the roof.
"Sorry," he sheepishly mumbles and quickly runs ahead of me in the direction of the black van we were following.
"Just shift for god's sake, Declan!" I yell towards him who was already a few rows ahead of me, as I rip out of my fully black leather atire and into my pure white coloured fur. I let out a low howl towards the moon as it made my fur shine under its reflection.
In front of me, Declan also shifts into his dusty brown coloured wolf which was only half the size of mine. I was way bigger than any average wolf.
I knew for a fact that I had good genes that came with almost perfect features and jaw-dropping abilities that were far more advanced than other wolves but I never knew where they came from, considering I've never met my parents before, and I don't ever think it'll matter to me whether or not I do.
I jumped off the roof tops and nicely landed on top of the black van. Ripping the top of the van off, I let out a threatening growl towards the little boy to prevent him from running. He was a powerful person yet so vulnerable in my eyes.
I was told to bring him back unharmed and alive, and if I did, a load of cash would be awaiting for me to spend. It didn't quite occur to me to wonder or ask who he was, but his father came to me with this mission.
"Let's bring you back home child," Declan sighs after he had stopped the car from moving and walked up towards the door while pulling on a pair of basketball shorts. A V-line lung low on his shorts while his sweaty muscles glistened under the moon light. Declan was a very fit wolf with striking features and dimples that made both she-wolfs and humans swoon but I never fell for any of that, and I honestly don't know why.
The three body guards and his driver quickly shifted to protect their young master but I tore off their heads before they could do anything. Their blood gushing out onto the seats and my fur. The young boy paled slightly and fainted, making me laugh but it came out sounding weird from my muzzle.
Declan shook his head and shot me a dissapointed look while tossing me a large T-shirt. He was never a fan of my stone cold heart but I never asked for his opinion. I was my own person and I shall live my way.
I heard bones crackling and pulled on the T-shirt seeing Declan already dragging the little boy's body as if it weighted nothing towards our headquarters.
When I was a child, the headquarters was my home and still is. It's something like the CIA but its filled with trained assassins. After I was born, I was left at the door step of the headquarters waiting for a kind soul to take me in. That's why I don't believe in kind souls. The agency was about to toss me out before they felt the power that washed off of me. They ran test and found that I was no ordinary pup. I was stronger, faster and I learned quicker than most trainees do. My whole childhood was filled with fighting sessions and occasionally a break or two.
We walk back into the seventy floor building to hand the boy over to his father who was waiting impatiently. I nod as other staffs and workers bow their heads to me in respect as I walked pass them towards the lift. Being the best and most respected assassin, wolves and humans parted like the red sea even if they were late for their meetings or appointments while I walked into the lift with Declan still having the little boy thrown over his shoulders.
Using the lift was like any other companies in New York, jammed pack with people but the power that radiated off of me shooed them away, allowing me to enter without having to wait.
After collecting my money, I washed away the blood and got changed into some washed out jean shorts, and a hoodie, matching my high cut vans and head out into the night sky for a light snack, not minding that it was a school night. I could drop out any time I wanted, I knew everything already. At least, everything it takes to survive out in the harsh world.
Stopping by dunkin donuts, I fished out some cash I pickpocketed from someone along the streets and handed it towards the cashier. I wasn't poor, hell, I was richer than Bill Gates with the amount I earned, but it was thrill and excitement that had me going for more.
"Two glazed donuts," I faked a smile towards the cashier who rolled her eyes at me. I could easily rip out her throat and since she was human it made it even easier, but I had enough blood on my hands for the night. Humans couldn't tell who was a werewolf and who wasnt, they couldn't sniff out anything even if their lives depended on it.
Grabbing the paper bag of my donuts, I pushed out the doors of the shop before catching a light scent of woodsy and lavender in the air.
'Mate! Mate! Go to mate!' My wolf, Olivia shouted, obviously excited to see her mate.
'No,' I scolded back and blocked her from my mind. The last thing I need to ruin my life is a possisive mate who will totally control my life.
My mate's scent was faint indicating that my mate was far away yet it was still comforting in the cold and quiet night.
