The flash of bright white light faded away, showing us we were standing in the middle of the forest. Mason’s eyes grew big as he looked around.
“There’s magic here?” Kai looked at him as he nodded.
“That’s one of my men. He is holding up a force field around our grounds. Protecting us from the outside”, Mason seemed genuinely enthusiastic to hear that, as he waved his hands humming a spell. Somehow, the air started to vibrate, and out of nowhere, Seb popped up into view.
“How the hell did you pull that off?” He asked, looking at Mason with even bigger eyes. Mason and Seb stared at each other, as if they had just seen Santa Claus putting gifts under the Christmas tree. And then, their gazes made room for a huge grin.
