We made it towards my mother’s SUV as she made me step in. “Give me a few minutes,” She smiled at me, as she closed the door, walking back into the house. A couple of minutes later, she came back, holding on to a backpack. She walked over to the car as she gave me the backpack. “You need some clothes and money darling, I'm not sending you off with nothing.” She smiled as she patted me on my leg. I pulled her into my arms, feeling so incredibly grateful for having this woman in my life. “Thanks mom.” I whispered in her ear, as she leaned back and kissed me on the cheek, before turning on the car as she started to drive away from our house.
