The rest of the evening was spent relaxing by the fire pit. Colton and Maya were chatting away on one side of the patio chairs. Arkyn and I sat on the other side, content with each other’s company. The Moon was at its highest, illuminating the backyard. It looked surreal, as if the image pulled from a fairy tale book. A soft breeze made me shiver slightly, even though the fire pit gave us warmth. I felt Arkyn’s arm slowly move over my shoulder, rubbing my arm as if to warm me up.
