Nicolas turned and caught up the little boy. Jamie proudly held up his leaf, “Look what I found! It’s mommy’s favorite color!”
“I can see that,” Nicolas chuckled despite the emotions still churning within.
“Daddy,” Amber ran up to Liam.
He hesitated before following Nicolas’s example and picking up the little girl. She shyly showed him the stick she had found.
“I found something too. It looks like a musical note, doesn’t it?”
“Yes it does,” Liam agreed twirling it between his fingers.
