It had been many years since he had decided to come back to this place and the only reason for it was recon on the new Van Helsing that was finally making an appearance.
From what information he received, the daughter of the famous Elliot and Delilah had finally come home after years away. With his own family being part of the council for supernaturals, they wanted him to find out as much information as he could on her and relay the intel back to them.
No one knew much about the girl. Only that she was sent to the hunter organization far earlier than her peers too keep her hidden as much as possible from them until she probably reached her immortality. Gods have blessed the Van Helsing family to be just like other supernaturals and live an exceedingly long life to help police the supernatural world. They would be smart if they waited for her change to keep such a valuable hunter on their side.
That way with her now back out in the world it would technically be safe for her.
Not much could kill most supernaturals besides being burned alive or one’s head being taken off.
Either way, he was about to find out. From what he had learned was the girl had left the confides of her home and had gone to the club called ‘The Den’ who was owned and operated by Jax and Dax. Werebear shifters that he knew kept a balance within their club for supernaturals and from what he had learned was close friends to the girl from the message her received just shortly ago.
He’d have to keep his distance for the time being so no one expected him of his intentions.
As he strolled towards the line, he walked past everyone and to the front. There wasn’t a chance that he would be waiting the possible hours to get in. Instead, he stood before Dax. “If you don’t want any problems, how about you let me in and I will make it worth your while?”
Even though the shifter’s eyes hid behind a pair of black shades, he could feel the tension creep off him as the energy he held radiated. Shifters always got so worked up when slightly challenged.
Taking out a roll of fifty dollar bills he handed it over to the shifter. “This is what I meant. Take it and let me in if you could?” Money was of no concern to him. He’d lived long enough that he could spend millions and still have money coming in. “You know it would benefit the club and I promise I will be on my best behavior.”
The shifter didn’t say a word and put the cash within his front pocket and pointed inside. Tension still poured off him, but there was little he could do about that. Maybe even though his power was locked up tight, he could still sense his age regardless of it.
Nevertheless, he headed inside without a glance back. His focus was now on finding the girl. As soon as he entered the dance area Felicia was already beside him. She had been the first to notice her as she always frequented the club. “She was just at the bar, but I believe she is up on the second level now. Never seen her here before and there is a slight resemblance to the Van Helsing family to make me guess her. I could be wrong. You’d probably be capable of telling right away, though possibly not if she has her power hidden. Now that I have been of assistance may I ask for time together later?”
There was innuendo behind her words. He had already had her once since his arrival earlier this week and he didn’t quite care about having another encounter. Sure, she was a beautiful woman with her ice blond hair, blue eyes and the must plump lips that he could bite down on. Add that with her luscious body that curved in all the right places she was awfully tempting. It was a bonus that she was a vampire like him too so blood was never an issue around her.
But, she was like every other woman in his life. One taste and he didn’t care for another.
The hunt was more appealing and it wasn’t hard to have her in his bed.
“Sorry, but I’m busy tonight sweet. Maybe another time. Now duty calls.” With that he walked towards the second floor gazing up towards the railing to see if he might be able to spot her.
And too right he did.
There she was staring out over the crowd and when her eyes roamed over, he could have sworn she was staring right at him.
Those turquoise eyes fascinated him. When those eyes kept looking around he realized she hadn’t noticed him at all. That was a good thing, but at the same time he didn’t like it one bit.
He wanted her to see him.
This may not be part of his plan, but he needed to talk with her.
Instead of waiting to meet her at a later time, he figured maybe now would be fine. There were always times where plans changed.
Keeping his stride, he easily maneuvered through the crowd of dancers towards the stairs. With grace he headed up them and while he continued forward, he kept his eyes locked on her.
If he thought Felicia was beautiful this girl was breathtaking.
The golden-brown strands of hair were up in a messy bun with tendrils cascading down to frame her face. The small little black dress complemented her body, hugging it in all the right places and even showcased her toned legs with strapped heels to boot.
For some reason an image of her wearing those heels while digging them in his back popped into his head. Once that vision was there it was impossible to remove it. He wanted her.
This wasn’t a good idea.
Yet, he couldn’t stop his feet from continuing towards her until he was right behind her. “Who do we have here?”
The words were out and now there was no going back. Oh well.
The moment her eyes looked back to his, he felt it again. The ensnared feeling they seemed to have on him. When they shifted over him, he felt a deep sense of pleasure come over him. Having someone check him out wasn’t something new, but with her he felt a sense of enjoyment from it.
He could detect the moment she reached out with her own power to tell what he was. He wasn’t hiding the fact he was a vampire, only the amount of actual power he truly had. He didn’t want her to know just how powerful he actually was.
Silence loomed on as he waited for her answer and eventually, he raised an eyebrow at her. “Someone that you’ve never met before.” Her voice was beautiful, but the moment he registered her words annoyance flooded through him. And it further irritated him when he noticed her stifle what appeared to be a laugh by biting her lower lip.
That just led him to think about kissing and biting that bottom lip of hers too, which really threw him off.
He could feel himself wanting her as his c**k pulsed in his trousers. Shifting to stand next to her might be the best plan just to avoid her noticing him getting hard for her. He needed to get a hold of himself. As soon as he was at her side, he noticed her eyes come back to him.
“Obviously that is correct. So, what might be your name?”
He wanted to know absolutely if she truly was a Van Helsing. From the photos of her family, she did look like them, but wanted to hear her say it. No one had actual photos of her though knew her name was Aurora Van Helsing. That was about it with intel.
“You and I both know you know what I am and therefore who I am.” Turning slightly, she locked eyes with him smiling softly at him and again he felt ensnared in them along with that smile. That pull to her was still there, making it hard for him to rationalize what was going on. “But if you want to know, I am a Van Helsing, but of course, you knew that. I go by Rory to be precise though.” Hearing her nickname for herself he could tell it fit her and that he had found the person he was looking for indeed. While he watched her, he noticed her eyes diverted to the entrance where he noticed Seth Van Helsing and a red headed woman entering who had to be Diane Reinhardt, well now Van Helsing. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to meet up with someone.” With one more smile to him, she walked around him and all he could do was watch her walk away.
He had been dismissed by the girl. The audacity.
