Caly’s POV
“Where are you going?” Erik asks Julia as she starts to follow us out of the dungeon.
“I’m going to meet the new girl. You can’t come, we don’t want to overwhelm her.”
“But I thought we would spend some time together…” He nervously brushes his hair back so we can all see the confused look on his face.
“Erik, I said I wanted you to stay, I didn’t say we were going to be Mates right away, you still have a lot of making up to do. I’ll see you tomorrow morning for coffee, not before.”
“You may go back to your room in the Packhouse, Erik,” I holler down the stairs at him, ending this discussion because Colin is still prompting me forward. At the top of the stairs, Colin opens the outer door for me before rushing off to the hospital wing and we all jog behind him.
