Everleigh and I were just hanging out in my room, nervously watching our phones for updates on Conner and Erik. I was showing her some easy games she could play, and some of the educational ones Mrs. Alpha had put on the pup’s tablets for learning letters, numbers and reading (Hey! Don’t knock it, some of them are really cute.) She seemed really interested in my reading apps. Oftentimes, when you are in captivity reading is the only entertainment- if you can read, that is. I wanted to reassure her that she wouldn’t be going back but I know Mrs. Alpha’s sad history, there is no such thing as a guarantee.
