9. Happily skip her way to the detention like it was wonderland instead

It felt good to be back on my legs again, running and feeling the slight pressure in my muscles. Oh god, how much I missed this! I had lost myself in the momentary pleasure that I didn't consider slowing down around the corner as I turned only to bump into the group of TWPs who had stopped by Dylan's locker. Unfortunately for me, it wasn't the sunshine blond I wanted to talk to who I had collided into but the nasty dirty blond, Orwell whose broad muscular shoulders hit square on my forehead leaving me to stagger back with dizziness. "Watch it, gorgeous. Those bite, here why don't you fall in my arms?" Some random guy commented in the background and his hyena friends howled and laughed in reply. I ignored them and shook my head once to focus as I reached out to place my hand on the wall only to end up placing it over something smooth and warm and that gave me tingles. My head snapped to find Vann staring at my hand with narrowed eyes that was resting over his exposed skin of the unbuttoned green henley. The realization alone made another stronger current pass through his skin to mine making my entire body shudder with it. I immediately snatched my hand back like it touched a bare wire with a five voltage electricity as I mustered a sorry. Damn, this guy could electrocute people with his bare skin, had he born in a power plant to manifest such currents? "I need to talk to you," I said after calming myself down. My body was buzzing with whatever energy they were emitting but it didn't feel threatening. Vann just stared at me like I had just asked for him to donate his kidneys to me, free of cost. When I didn't see any signs of him making a move, I added, "you were at the accident spo--" I trailed off as he grabbed my hand causing my body go overboard with the tinglings and butterflies in my stomach, and dragged me off to a random direction and I just followed after him. It was a wonder how my legs hadn't given me out by how they felt like jelly underneath my torso. All the eyes in the corridor were on us as students whispered among themselves. It only increased my nervousness and butterflies in my stomach. We ended up in the ruins part of the school, a part that was yet to be restored and renovated after being hit by a seismic sea wave a few years ago and was destroyed. The lack of funding had left this place as it is as the very own ruins of the school. The light rays entered through holes in the ceiling and walls, not leaving the place in entire darkness but the dust here was as bad as any other ruins. A halfway fallen beam seperated the place in two halves. Venturing this place was as good as going for an adventure in the unknown caves and since this place was still unstable, it was recommended for students to stay out. Nonetheless, students ended up here for their own reasons or just for fun until they are caught by the faculty and given detention. This was my first time here, being a good student had made me stay away from breaking any rules. But here I was, with him, breaking my very first rule just because of him and yet it thrilled me, rather than urge me to stop him from landing both of us in the detention. He let go of my hand and turned to face me. I felt my heart pound faster inside my chest as his beautiful silver eyes landed on mine. I had his total attention and the thought alone was enthralling. "What do you want?" His hypnotic deep voice kissed the insides of me, even though nothing about his body language or the tone indicated the existence of any compassion. I blinked once as his words finally registered by my brain. I had thought I would be all cool and collected before him but the reality was otherwise. Because I was nowhere near being calm and cool. Everything about him was dreamy and surreal. And that was what made it difficult to keep my thoughts and actions in check. "You were there at the accident spot," I blurt the sentence without a thought for I had it practiced multiple times back at home, though, I doubted if I remembered the remaining of my speech that I had prepared mentally. He stared at me like asking me to clarify further what I was saying. Those molten silver looked stormy grey in the absence of adequate light. "I hadn't seen you at the store, then when did you-" before I could complete the sentence, he exhaled loudly and I felt his minty breath hit my nose as he said, "if you are so looking forward for a suicide, let me know before hand to not save you. You sure do ask a lot of questions for being saved." "That's not what I meant! I'm NOT suicidal," I protested by emphasizing on 'NOT' for I loved my life and never thought of killing myself. "I don't know why but being with you feels like a Deja Vu. Like I am pretty sure I have seen you somewhere before, I remember your eyes vividly-" he cut off my sentence once again as he deadpanned, "that's a classic pickup line you just said right there." "But I'm not flirting here, I just feel like what happened four months ago with me has something to do with you. I don't know why but everything is different after I woke up, even when I can't actually put a finger on it but your energy-" he once again interjected and asked his own question but this time he had grown stiff, his posture rigid like I had mentioned something that I shouldn't have, "what energy?" His sudden change in demeanor startled me a little. At this moment, I could feel the waves and waves of energy slowing seeping out of his cracks. It's was very miniscule at first but I could feel it increase as the seconds ticked by. No doubt, it was the same energy that I had felt outside the class that day that had been masked when I tried to search for the source. "This... energy," I told as my eyes fluttered back to his to see his eyes dilate visibly. It dazed me knowing one of the reasons for dilated pupils was attraction. Was he finding me attractive? "I-I gotta go," he blinded looking away as he mumbled mostly to himself before walking back. It felt like he was a deer caught in the headlight. I sure had caught him off-guard. "Wait, we haven't done talking yet." He ignored my words as he repeated about getting himself out of here as he back walked before almost disappearing behind the opening that lead back to school. But then there was Mr. Stanley standing in the way, blocking our path out of here. "Mr. Zervos, Ms. Priestley. What are you doing here?" That was the first thing that I heard from Mr. Stanley's mouth and even before any of us could answer to his rhetorical question, the very next thing was, "detention to both of you for breaking the rules." Great! I might be the only unlucky soul for getting caught the very first time I dared to break the rules! And this angelic sunshine was the reason for the very first black mark on my spotless record. I bet Christine would be dying to get caught like this with him, and happily skip her way to the detention like it was wonderland instead. Well, with him sharing the detention would make it into a wonderland too, I suppose. Either way, this wasn't a good news for me, especially with Uncle Ted being in the same building...
