Chores were all but completed, and just as I tended to the food within the slow cooker for dinner, the front door slammed. My heart dropped. The only person who slammed the door like that was him. I thought he had left to continue with his duties for the day. I thought I may be able to have some peace. But within seconds that familiar stench hit me to confirm my fears... he had returned.
