I wasn't surprised to find my name on the list for the three-day trip, but I was taken aback by Ace's absence. I assumed he'd be there, considering he'd be joining from the elite group, but to my surprise, he wasn't listed. Ariella was missing too.
Initially, this notion troubled me, and I'll admit, I freaked out a bit knowing Ace wouldn't be by my side. I've realized I've become quite reliant on him ever since I arrived at WestWood High; he's been a constant presence.
As much as this realization scared me, I tried to find a silver lining. Perhaps, this trip could be a chance for me to spend time alone and enjoy my own company. Every relationship needs space, and maybe this was our time for that.
