When Ally woke up, Jo had already left for the airport. She got out of bed and put on some jeans and a blouse. Then she made her way to the door, stealing one last glance at Gus sleeping calmly on her bed.
She busied herself making pancakes and eggs while listening to The Cure on her headphones.
Lovesong started playing, and she found herself singing along and sort of dancing barefooted around the kitchen floor while flipping pancakes.

The sudden touch of a hand on her hip startled her, and she almost dropped the spatula. She jolted, yelping and scrambling to rip her headphones out.
