Crashing and Burning

THAT´S WHAT FRIENDS ARE FOR

It had been a couple of rough weeks. Work had been stressful.

Ally spent the entire time dealing with a very demanding new client and her boss had everyone working extra hard just to please the entitled prick.

Also, Gus had stopped texting a few days back and that made her feel a little sad. But she was trying to resist the urge to reach out, yet.

-Can I get you a beer? -Harry’s voice brought her back from her reverie.

-Yes, please. Thanks

Harry handed her a can and reached to cup her cheek, caressing it for a second – Are you okay? He asked

-Yeah, just a little stressed. Work’s been a nightmare lately, that’s all.

The afternoon went as usual. They chatted and drank. They laughed about stupid things and Ally started loosening. She felt comfortable with him. He was a much more familiar figure than Robert, Ally told herself.

-You look stunning today - Harry said - leaning to kiss her forehead. He stood there silently breathing her scent in.

-Thanks- Ally replied, blushing a little.

He lost no time, his hands reaching between her legs and his mouth kissing her neck and going down to her breasts. She closed her eyes and tried to focus on him, but she wasn’t feeling anything at all. Her p***y felt drier than a desert. “What the f**k was going on with her?”.

-Harry wait - Ally called out- I, I don’t think I want to do this anymore… I’m so sorry

He paused, looking at her deeply and grabbing her chin.

-Hey look at me, it’s okay. Don’t be sorry.

-I don’t know what’s happening, I’m just not feeling it- Ally said sadly.

-These things happen, don’t worry girl. Before anything else, we’re friends, and you’ll always have some beer and some conversation here with me. Then, if you ever want something more, that’ll be my pleasure… That’s what friends are for.

-Thanks- she said

-Hey wanna go to a party? - He asked, smiling.

They had a great night, dancing and laughing, chatting with Harry’s friends and just having a good time. Ally found herself relaxing and feeling content.

When the party died and everyone was passed out, Ally and Harry made their way to a backyard to have a smoke. They stepped carefully among a few drunken buddies lying around. Covering their mouths giggling and staring at the rising sun.

-You’ll be fine, Ally - Harry said. His eyes scanning her sadly- And I’ll be here for you if you ever need me again.

-Don’t say goodbye just yet, we’re still hanging out.

-I know, I know. I just… never mind – He said reaching out and, bringing her into a tight hug.
