Chapter 4

685 Words
Over the next five days Jackson and I stayed confined to our room. We talked about our likes and dislikes and even our lives growing up. I was astonished to find out that he had been a past contestant in the Hunger Games 4 years after his brother one. The day he entered the arena he was a few days short of turning 19. He spent 7 months in the arena before he finally won. Apart from the trauma's of our lives we discovered we had a lot in common. Starting with our love for hunting. In the Capitol there were several attractions for people like me and Jackson who was into hunting and survival skills. There were arena's set up that held animals and plants that we were legally allowed to hunt and scavange. For those that were fans of the Hunger Games in the Capitol were able to do a simulation of the games. Only in this simulation no one died if your vitals dropped past the given point you were pulled out of the arena and righted before you died. According to Jackson people in the Capitol payed alot of money to be a contestant in this game. I thought it was disgusting but a small part of me wanted to be back in that arena. We had a day before our wedding which would be held at Finnicks home the day we got back to the Capitol. We should be arriving tomorrow morning around noon. I was anxious to become a wife and to move on to a new chapter of life that I was being forced to create. Jackson and I sat in our room in our bed playing a scenario game, the one that I played with my parents and my brother when I was little. He was good and actually won three times, that was a first for me losing to anyone. He had asked me a question which I answered correctly but he jokingly said I got it wrong. Our game turned into a playful wrestling match which I won. Jackson confided to me that he let me win so we did a rematch which I won again. I lightened my hold on Jackson for one moment and he flipped me onto my back and pinned me down. I laughed at his sneaky move and then we both grew silent. His face was inches from mine and I couldn't help notice how handsome he was, then again I never denied that he wasn't. The thought of what our children would look like pleased me, they would definitely have good looks. I then quickly found myself pressing my lips to his and for a moment it turned into heated passion. Then there was a knock at the door and we pulled away from one another. I cleared my throat. "Who is it?" It turned out to be Cinna who was wanting to do a final fitting for my wedding dress. I willingly allowed myself to be taken away to do just that. I needed to ground my mind. For some reason I found myself wanting Jackson, was I falling for him? Was he falling for me? Maybe it was just us getting used to our acting. I stood in the center of Cinna's room as he began working on me. Sadly I didn't get to see what I looked like but Cinna said I was beautiful. After a few altercations to the dress it was back off and in its bag safetly in Cinna's closet with the shoes and Jacksons suit. Tomorrow was the day. The moment I walked back into the room I was embraced by Jackson. I let my arms hang loosly by my side not wanting any affection, real or not. After a few seconds Jackson took a hint and released me. "Whats wrong?" He asked me. "I just realized my parents won't be able to be at the wedding. Everyone will recognize them and then they will put two and two together." I told him. Who was supposed to walk me down the isle?
