I was breathless, but my heart still hurt. Raul had left to take care of some business that needed attending to. This gave me ample opportunity to think about the events that just transpired. My mind wandered to Alec, it sucked knowing that until the bond was officially broken I would feel every interaction he had with his new "mate". I scoffed at the thought. New mate, what a joke! The thought process was really starting to bum me out. While Raul had taken care of the burning sensation, the aching pain had also subsided.
