Chapter Six.

Ares’s P.O.V
Groaning I peel my eyes open, finally waking up I sit up in a quick pace and look around. I’m home? But how? Thane walks through the door and looks at me.
“Good, you’re awake. Let’s go.” Se says throwing my jacket at me and I catch it.
“Where are we going?” I ask putting it on and following him.
“Back to Miley’s place but we have to be quiet.”
I furrow my eyebrows.
“Why?” I ask getting into the car.
“Because I don’t want our parents getting in the way.” That’s right! The last thing I remember is mom detaining us with her powers but how did we get free? What happened? I look at Thane.
“Where are our parents?” His face turns serious. “Thane, where are they?” He starts the car.
“In the cellars.” My eyes widen.
“What?! You put our parents in holding cells like some prisoners?” He turns to me.
“You saw what mom did yesterday, she is willing to do whatever it takes to stop me from doing this. I didn’t have much of a choice.”
“But-”
“They’ll be fine, I just sedated them which buys us a couple of hours but once they wake up they’ll escape, easy.” The rest of the ride is silent, when we get there I see Jason and Lucas standing outside, in their fighting gear.
“Alpha.” They say in union.
“Why are you guys here?” They look between each other.
“I called them here, they’ll keep watch in case our parents try to do something and if they get through them, Olivia and Noah are inside as the second wall.” Walking inside we find Amber, Miley, Noah and Olivia waiting for us. “Let’s move, we don’t have much time.” He commands.
“W-” Olivia hesitates and we all turn to her, sucking in a breath she looks at Thane. “Thane, are you really going through with this?”
“Are you questioning my decision?” I guess not even Olivia can change his mind. She bows her head.
“Of course not Alpha.”
“Good, let’s go.” Miley takes us to a dark ally with stairs that lead to a room downstairs.
“This way.” She says, candles light up as we make our way downstairs. She ushers Thane to lay down and starts retraining him.
“Why are you retraining him?”
“Like I said, this spell isn’t easy and these restraints are coated with a spell that will prevent his wolf from coming out.” Done with Thane she hands me a blue like liquid. “This is if you change your mind about breaking your link to him.”
“I won’t.” Her face turns serious.
“You might.” Taking a knife he slits both his palms and captures the dripping blood into a metallic bowl. When it fills up to her satisfaction she places it on his chest and starts chanting words in Greek, the blood rises, forming a circle around Thane, it changes it’s colour then suddenly erupts into burning flames, as if roaring in protest. That’s when I hear Thane scream and soon after I’m gritting my teeth in anguish. Falling to my knees my vision blurs.
“Ares.” Amber rushes to me and helps me up. “You don’t have to be here, there’s a room right next to this one. Let’s go there.” About to protest Thane stops me.
“Go! Now!” Looking into his eyes I see them change into a red like colour. Heading into the other room Amber puts the potion in front of me.
“Take the potion Ares.”
“Ahhh!” Thane and I groan at the same time as the pain ripples through our bodies, falling to my knees I try to speak but cough out blood.
“Oh my god Ares!” She rushes to me and wipes my blood away, when she touches me it’s as if her hands are on fire, she triggers something within me and before I know it I’m in complete darkness.
Amber’s P.O.V
“Oh my god Ares!” Rushing to him I quickly wipe away the blood. When I touch him he flinches away from my touch and when he looks at me his irises turn white as his face turns cold. “Ares, why is your gaze so cold?”
“Why are you touching me?” What happened to his voice? That’s not Ares’s voice.
“What do you mean? I touch you all the time, Ares do you know who I am?” I ask him.
“Why would I know a mere mortal like you?” This isn’t Ares, Ares would never talk to me like this. “Teach yourself to never lay your hands on me again, only my mate can touch me.” My eyes gloss over with tears and something tugs at my heart.
“Ares.” I whisper as tears fall from my eyes, hissing in pain I go to touch him but hesitate.
“Ahhh!”
“Ares.” I quickly wrap my arms around him and he falls onto me. I use a levitation spell to put him on the bed then retrain him. Rushing to my mother I hear a loud bang, strong enough to shake the ground. “What was that?”
“It’s probably they’re parents, we don’t have much time. Amber use the transportation spell and put Ares in here then lock the door.” I nod and do what she says.
“Don’t worry Amber, we’ll protect you.” Noah says before I close the door.
“How long till it’s complete?”
“Not long.” She says still focusing on the spell. As she chants the words I can hear the battle that’s going on outside, my eyes widen when the boys’ screams fill the air but Thane the most. A red like beast’s aura comes out of his chest, as if being pulled out. “Amber quickly grab that potion and make Thane drink it.” I quickly grab the potion and put it to his lips, making him drink it. When the last drop touches his lips the beast is trapped inside a small box then it disappears into Thane’s body. The door breaks open and Luna Zendea tries to come in but is stopped by the spell.
“Don’t worry, I’ll buy you as much time as I can.” I say deepening the spell, I’m not as strong as my mother yet so I don’t know how long I can hold on. Every time she breaks through I put up another wall, s**t she’s strong.
“You can’t keep this up for long.” She warns.
“I don’t have to.” I can feel my body giving in, feeling something wet fall on my lips I wipe it and see blood. Putting my hands up I push further, I manage to put up one more wall but when she breaks through it I fall to my knees.
“Amber!” My mom rushes to me, holding me in her arms but the Luna is quick to wrap her hand around her neck, pulling her away and lifting her up.
“Mom.” I try to reach for her but my body’s too weak.
“I told you you would regret this.” Is the last thing I hear before darkness consumes me.
