Chapter 55: Cavernous Cave
Fox’s POV
Eva had been acting strangely. Well, stranger than usual. She was tired all of the time. She had dark circles under her eyes and strange bruises on her pale skin. She whispered to herself more than usual and she forgot things. Very unlike the sharp Eva I had come to know. Even during her psychiatric hospital stay, she had still kept a routine. Now she seemed to have none. I always found her sleeping, staring or mumbling. I held her close to me on the day Jessie and Jamie were going on their trip. She was seething. Why didn’t she let her hatred for Jamie go? It was in the way of her recovery. I grumbled inwardly but did not say anything. I wondered if that thing that worked with Brynn was behind all of this. I casted a protection circle around her bed
