Chapter 31: Invocation Island
Jamie’s POV
The familiars were having a blast as though it were a real vacation. Gold was rolling around in the sand. Shadow perched in a coconut tree, squawking happily. Smog was hopping around in the sand. I knew toads and frogs should not get near salt so he probably could not go in the water. Cats hated water by principle so Gold kept Smog company and Shadow stayed up in his tree. I suddenly realised time was flying by. The blue sky was fading unnaturally quickly and the white fluffy clouds were moving fast. The waves were sped up like fast-forwarding through a movie. Everything returned to a normal pace once the sun began its slow descent.
