CHAPTER 31 Pregnancy

Doctor Michael was so furious when he came back from his out-of-town convention that Marnie had suffered a lot from stress. His secretary reported it to him when he was already on board. The gossip spreading that Marnie was his mistress made him so mad that he was about to explode. He knew who spread the gossip over the hospital and nearby hospital.

"I knew Cristina and Mom did this," he said to himself.

He decided to make an announcement already that Marnie was not his mistress but his legal wife.

Meanwhile...

Marnie was already emotionally and mentally stressed as she can no longer work. She used to run to the restroom to throw up frequently. When she was throwing up, she overheard some voices making fun of her.

"Have you seen Marnie's reaction? haha," a female voice said to another one.

"Yeah. Well, that's what happened when someone was trying to destroy a relationship," the other one replied.

"Imagine, becoming a mistress of Doctor Michael even if she already knew that he was engaged with Doctor Garcia haha. SHe doesn't know who is she offending," another one said.

Marnie controls herself to come out from the cubicle to tell them that she wasn't Doctor Michael's mistress. That she is Mrs. Co already. How she wished that Michael come now and tell them everything. She was quite exhausted already that she can't bear the stress already.

After she heard that they all came out of the restroom, she came out from the cubicle as well and washed her face.

When she was about to leave the hospital, she bumped with Doctor Garcia and she fells down. Doctor Garcia intentionally did that when she saw she's heading her way without looking where she's going.

"Oooooh, I am sorry. Let me help you," Doctor Garcia pretended to help her as she saw some people were looking at them.

"See, how nice Doctor Garcia is. She still helps her even if she stole her fiance," one of the bystanders at the lobby said to her colleague.

Doctor Garcia and Marnie heard them. Doctor Garcia smiled at her and whispered to Marnie's ear, "Well, next time better watch out who are you going to mess with," she offered her hand for help but Marnie refused it as she felt a deep pain in her tummy.

"Uuuugh," she was in total pain when she felt a hot liquid flowing from her inner thighs. Everybody saw that she was bleeding in pain.

Doctor Garcia was shocked as she wasn't expecting it. Being a doctor even if it was against her will, she asked some medical staff to assist her to bring in the emergency Marnie.

"Are you pregnant," she asked Marnie. She doesn't even know how to feel. She felt a pang of guilt inside since she knew that Marnie was flirting with her fiance, it wasn't her intention to be the cause of her miscarriage just in case.

She immediately assisted her to the emergency room since she was the assigned Ob Gyne here. It's her duty as a medical doctor to save Marnie and her baby. 

Even though she was shocked of knowing Marnie's condition, her dedication and commitment as a medical doctor are still present and she will help her. She will set aside her feelings and anger over Marnie to do her duty as a doctor first.

Doctor Michael was already in the lobby when he heard that Marnie was rushed to the emergency room already. He immediately headed to the emergency and saw Doctor Garcia coming out from the door already.

"How was she?" he asked her about Marnie.

"She's safe now. Her baby is safe also. Though she needed some bedrest since her body is weak," Doctor Garcia said to Doctor Michael.

"She's pregnant?" he asked her.

"Yes, she's a; ready one month pregnant. Is the baby yours?" Doctor Garcia can't help but ask him. She was a bit awkward to ask her fiance about the pregnancy of his mistress.

"Of course, it's mine. She's my wife," Doctor Michael answered her straightly making Doctor Garcia almost lose her balance.

At first, she was shocked as she saved Marnie from miscarriage and now Doctor Michael claimed that she was already his wife. What a shocking revelation for her.

Everybody in the lobby heard them and was shocked about what Doctor Michael revealed.

Arthur was there also to check Marnie after he heard that she was rushed to the emergency room. He knew the truth already as Marnie confessed to him everything the other day.

He was relieved upon hearing that Doctor Michael finally revealed that Marnie wasn't his mistress but his wife already.

Other medical staff and medical representatives were so shocked upon hearing that Marnie was Doctor Michael Co's wife.

"So she wasn't the mistress after all," one of them said.

Doctor Michael heard her and he turned back and approached her, "Yes, she's my legal wife, and who the heck people made an issue that she was my mistress?" 

She was frightened by Doctor Michael's words. He was so furious. 

"I will request the hospital to review the CCTV to check what happened a while ago. Was it an accident of someone pushing her?" he said while looking at Doctor Garcia.

Doctor Garcia's face turned pale. If only she knew that Marnie was pregnant, she won't push her. But she was the one who saved her either. She just wished that DOctor Michael won't find it out otherwise she can't bear it if he got mad at her.

Others saw what happened in the lobby and the majority of them knew that Marnie didn't accidentally fall on the floor but was roughly pushed over by Doctor Co.

"Tsk! Tsk! " the other said before leaving.

The truth will always come out.

After Marnie had been transferred to a VIP room, Doctor Michael knew the result of the review already and he was furious now with Doctor Garcia. He can be seen what happened. He approached Marnie was still sleeping and he saw the stress caused by the incident on her beautiful face. She was so paled. If something bad happened that lead to her miscarriage, he can't forgive Doctor Garcia. She was a bit lucky since she had saved Marnie

But Doctor Michael had asked someone to conduct an investigation for Marnie's whereabouts and what happened during his three-day out-of-town convention and he was not happy about it. He will no longer allow Marnie to work as a medical representative and suffered like this.

Their first-born child was almost miscarried due to the bullying of his beloved wife.

When he was about to leave the room to confront Doctor Garcia, Marnie woke up.

She saw Michael on her side and she burst out crying," Thanks to God you're here already. I miss you," she said.

Michael hugged and kissed her, "How are you feeling? You are pregnant with our child," he excitedly told her.

"I am pregnant?" she asked she hold her flat tummy.

"Yes, so you better quit your job okay. You need some rest. I am already here. I'll handle everything okay," Michael assured his wife.

"Thank you," Marnie said then hugged her husband.

"I love you. I'll take care of you and our child okay," he kissed her...

He will wait for her to sleep and rest again before he confronts Doctor Garcia. He will deal with his mother too when he go home later. He will wait for Marnie's parents to come over. He already called them and explained everything. He was so fortunate that Marnie's father was so understanding and helped him explain to Mrs. Castello who was nagging him after she knew everything.
