The days following the unexpected night with Dominic were nothing short of torturous for Isabella. She spent most of her time avoiding him and everyone else, the embarrassment gnawing at her every time she thought about it. The mansion was large enough to make her avoidance somewhat plausible, but Dominic, being persistent as ever, made several attempts to speak with her. The first time, she had been in the garden, attempting to lose herself in the routine of tending to the roses.
