Chapter 12 Fast Recovery

1028 Words
As days passed by, Alliah started to cope with her new life setup. Since she couldn't go back to her physical work, she enjoyed writing more novels. Her first income as an author made her realize that if she could write more, her new career as a novelist could give her huge money, enough for her and Joshua to support a living. Even if she and her son were already living with her senior parents in their home, she wanted to earn money for them. She doesn't want to be their lifetime burden. She knew that in a few more months, her body could fully recover and that she could drive a car once again. Fieldwork and sales were her true nature of work and she was craving for it already. But fate, for now, wasn't cooperating, and unleashing her potential to write made her realize that she can do more, she can be productive in another aspect of her life. She was wiping her tears upon finishing another chapter of her book. It was quite difficult for her to write this part since she needed to create a conflict with her story as her editor advised. She had made her female protagonist suffer from a head injury in order to come up with a very complicated scenario. She had a lot of research and had to write it emotionally, which made her cry. She felt that she was almost the protagonist of her story. Her new career as a novelist helped her to recover fast. Jamiro's consistent chat made her recover quickly. She was too engrossed with her story as she had so much research to do. Suddenly, her mobile phone vibrated: "Hi. Have you had your dinner already?" a message popped up from Jamiro. Alliah smiled upon seeing Jamiro's name on her mobile phone screen. She couldn't help but giggle. "Hmmmn. Later. I am still writing," she replied. "Hey, you better watch out for your health. You should not skip meals," Jamiro reminded Alliah. He got worried upon knowing that Alliah had skipped her meals once again. This was her previous illness. Alliah was so touched by Jamiro. Nobody cares about her aside from her family. It was only now that the opposite s*x and a former childhood reminded her. "Thank you so much, Jam," she said. "Why are you so caring for me?" she couldn't help but ask him. Her heart was pounding for happiness as she could express how she felt for him already. "I am worried and I care for you Alliah," Jamiro confessed. "But why?" Alliah kept on asking him. 'Because I care. I don't want you to suffer from your illness again. In fact, I would like to take care of you personally," Jamiro said, as he wanted to go to Alliah right now and hug her. He wanted to take care of her and protect her right now, right there. Alliah's tears started to fall down as she was so touched by Jamiro. He is so sweet and caring. She hadn't seen this side of Jamiro before. Why is it only now? She asked herself. Jamiro, who was waiting for Alliah's reply, got worried that she hadn't replied to him anymore. "Alliah? Are you still there?" he asked worriedly. "Yup, I am here. I was so touched by your concern. Nobody aside from my family has cared for me ever since. It was only now and it was you. Thank you so much," she said emotionally. "Stop crying, Alliah. Have enough rest and please have your meals on time," he said to her. "Alright. I will prepare my meals now. Thank you for always reminding me Jam," she said politely to Jamiro. Jamiro smiled and replied, "Welcome. Don't worry, as I will always remind you, Alliah." "Thanks again," Alliah replied, and then went to their kitchen. She was so happy and inspired to know that Jamiro is there to remind her, and to care for her. She felt something extraordinary about Jamiro now. Even if she couldn't explain it right away, she knew that there was magic between them. That there's a connection with them. It seemed that they had been too closed before. Not in the 1990s maybe, but in their past lives as well. It was a big question but she knew there was a spark between the two of them. She was singing while making her green vegetable salad with a hard-boiled egg. This is the kind of food she was advised to intake together with blended fruits in order to have a full recovery and minimize stomach upset anymore. Mrs. Torralba was just observing her daughter Alliah. It was only now that she had seen her smiling and singing after she had her surgery. Alliah seldom smiles nor is she happy after so many things happened to her. Alliah's mother smiled and approached her daughter. "You seemed so happy my child," she teased Alliah. "Yes, Mom. My book has been signed already and it will be monetized soon. I can help you financially again," Alliah told her mother. Mrs. Torralba paused for a moment. "It's alright if you can't share with our finances. You had better focus on your recovery, okay? But you know what Alliah is? I am so proud of your new hobby now," Mrs. Torralba hugged her daughter. With the thought that they were almost Alliah from her last surgery, she told herself to express her love to her daughter whom she had neglected for so many years. Besides, Alliah was the kind of her three daughters. "Thank you, Mom," Alliah hugged her mother with tears. She had waited for this moment when her mother would recognize her and hug her. She had longed for her since she was a little child. "Hey, is there something I've said that made you cry?" Mrs. Torralba asked her daughter. "No, Mom. I am just happy. So happy. I love you Mom," Alliah kissed her mother's cheeks. "Alright, I'll prepare your infused fruits. Joshua will be here later. I'll prepare his snacks too," Mrs. Torralba smiled at Alliah and started getting the fruit from their fridge.
