Several days passed, and it was time for Lily to leave the hospital. Bella went early to pick her up.
Lily was still weak, though she had been in the hospital for weeks. She was tormented by her feelings of guilt. Moreover, she had lost a lot weight.
Bella felt so sorry for her. “How can you not take good care of yourself? If your parents found out, they would be heart-broken.”
Lily smiled bitterly. She was still torn up about losing her baby.
“Bella, please, don’t say anything to my parents.” Lily grabbed Bella’s sleeve and begged. She didn’t want her parents to be worried about her.
“All right, all right. I won’t say anything to them. Don’t worry,” Bella conceded.
