As Eve came out on to the street, to her great surprise, she bumped into Tom.
Without hesitation, he grabbed Eve’s arm and dragged her to an alley a few buildings down from the police station.
“Eve, what did I tell you? If I find something connecting you to Lily’s death…” Tom said intensely.
“I…I just dropped by to see a friend.” Eve didn’t dare to look at Tom.
Tom threw her to the ground. “Visit a friend? How come I didn’t know you have any friend here? Eve, do you think I’m an i***t?” he sneered. “You don’t believe I would send you to hell right now, in this very alley?”
Eve was filled with fear. But soon she calmed down and started to laugh.
“What are you laughing at?” Tom frowned.
“I am laughing because I know you wouldn’t dare to do that.”
