Howard had been a little unenthusiastic about the idea of them getting back together, and although they might be acting like it at the barbecue, and allowing people like Sophie to think that they together again, that didn’t mean that they were. It wasn’t like he was going to get another opportunity to flirt with someone else to make Howard jealous. If he asked someone at work to play along it might look like harassment, and it could cause tension between Howard and that person in the workplace. This was definitely better. It wasn’t like Howard could hate Sophie any more than he already did.
