I sighed in relief as a red veloster pulled up to the curb in front of the school. Tanner was sitting behind the wheel, looking like he just rolled out of bed. His dark hair stuck up in different directions as if he had been electrocuted. Small bags hung under his angular eyes. It was honestly the worst I had ever seen him. A little bit of guilt tugged at me, seeing him in his current state. But I needed him. Right now, I needed him. I climbed in the front seat as soon as he stopped. "Oh my God, Tanner," I started, trying to show my immense gratitude. "You have no idea how thankful I am. Seriously, thank you so.." "Buckle your seatbelt," he said in a monotone voice.
