She was half running and half walking down the street, careful not to stumble, when a car draw up next to her. She could hear Nick close behind her, shouting for her to wait. She glanced at the car and saw a uniformed driver inside. He stopped, jumped out of the vehicle and opened the door to the back seat for her. “Ms Jang, please get in,” he said politely. By then Nick had caught up to her but he had stopped and was looking at the driver puzzled. “Ris, wait, don’t go, wait, I’m sorry, I lost my temper…” he pleaded. Someone alighted from the back of the car. He unfolded his tall frame and in one step, stood next to Clarissa. His cold blue eyes glared at Nick as he towered over the latter. It was Max.
