Things settled down a bit after the reading of the wills, thanks to the decisions of the courts. The judge denied bail to George, Samuel, and Martha. A court date was set for two months down the road, with George and Samuel held in county jail until then. As for Martha, well, her going beserk in the ER, attacking police, nurses, EMT's, then trashing the exam room netted her a sixty day hold in the psychiatric ward. Her court date was the same day as her brothers.
Everett and Earnest backed off completely. Their high-paying jobs depended on a squeaky clean reputation. After the BS they pulled on Bernice four years ago, they have been on thin ice with their employers. Neither of them can afford to make waves if they want to keep their jobs, their pensions, and their current life
