How do single parents do it? How do they wake up every morning knowing the responsibility of caring for their child lays solely on their shoulders? All the sleepless nights, the feedings, the diaper changing, the housework, the cooking? Holy frig, it's a wonder these parents remain even halfway sane.
I know that I am blessed beyond reason. Not only did June stay with me for a full month, giving me time to heal properly, but I had the support of my family and friends. June taught me so much about child care as well as selfcare as a new parent. I hated to see her leave. But she had committed to another family so had no choice. She's coming back when Carly has her little one to help her out. I can't wait to see her again as she became a true friend.
