I found Noah and Jace sitting in the hall outside the door looking tired and miserable. They jumped to their feet as soon as they heard me. I wonder if I looked as sad as they did.
“Ally baby, we are so sorry.” Jace quickly apologised.
“We were stupid. We didn’t mean to hurt you. Please come back home.” Noah apologised for himself.
We knew that already captain obvious. Kali mumbled sarcastically and rolled her eyes.
I thought you said we should be putting this behind us? I reminded her.
Ssshhh. Do as I say, not as I do. Kali shushed me.
“I just want to go to bed.” I sighed. I was so tired.
“Okay.” Noah and Jace moved awkwardly out of my way. I shuffled past them heading straight for our bed.
I climbed into the silky sheets feeling relived to be wrapped in their scents once more. N
