The light fractured behind Morgan’s eyes. It went on and on until there was nothing but red and purple filtering under his eyelids that fell closed on his last breath. Even being without air, he still had some version of consciousness. It was wild and a horrifying out of body experience to be detached and still begging for life. It felt as though the cord that tethered him to reality, to his body, was fraying then.
