It took much longer for Kevin to react and take his right hand away from Ava’s arm. He was contemplating whether to follow Brandon's weak but alarming tone, a beast who looked so feeble and helpless at the moment.
Brandon's face was covered by blood and cuts–all blue, purple, and black. His body, beneath the robe, was badly beaten and had deep lacerations, and his lower limbs...Kevin wasn’t sure why his people were not able to break his bones despite the beatings they gave him.
Kevin laughed while looking at the pathetic-looking Brandon.
In his mind, “What was so surprising about that? Brandon was a beast after all.”
Kevin laughed more at the thought but did not voice what was in his mind.
