“I couldn’t and couldn’t allow him to take you away from me,” Brandon murmured with palpable determination in his turquoise eyes.
Ava’s heart somewhat settled. She never doubted Brandon would give his best in anything. It was just harrowing to see him right now, but once he regained his strength and his wounds healed, she knew Brandon would exert efforts to learn about racing. He had been through so many battles in the past, and he triumphed over them. Kevin’s dare was just one of those challenges. Whatever the odds, Ava knew Brandon wouldn’t give up easily.
“You better–” she embraced him tightly, forgetting momentarily about his injuries.
