Arax stepped in front of Gracie as the soldiers raised their weapons. Immediately they lowered.
"Chief Commander," one of them said as he placed his fist over his heart. "The council stationed us here after you disappeared yesterday."
Returning the gesture, Arax stepped back so he was beside Gracie now instead of in front.
"Guardians, your new queen, Queen Gracie." He introduced her to them but he was sure they had already figured out who she was. They all dropped to a knee and bowed their heads. "Queen Gracie, this is Rhor, Bolder, Roxy, Fiera, and Brace." They each looked up as they were introduced.
"It's nice to meet all of you," Gracie said warmly. "Please, stand up."
"We need to call the council together," Claire spoke up.
