Jovian's POV:
My jaw clenched tightly as I stood outside of the cabin Claudia was staying in. I was fairly deep in the forest but in the right spot that I could easily see them as they pulled into the drive. I could tell by looking at Bella that she had no idea I was out there. She hardly ever tunes into her heightened senses without Claudia telling her to. Something that may get her killed in the end.
Then I saw Claudia as she stepped out of the car. She was a little out of balance and I could smell the alcohol in her blood. She wasn't drunk but she was impaired for sure. Impaired enough that she hadn't noticed my scent either. If she would have been completely sober, she would have known I was nearby with no hesitation. Her drinking, like she has been, weakens her. Something I'm sure
