“I’ll be here waiting,” I say to Nate, and then he kisses me before walking away. I watch him jog down the hall admiring his butt.
‘He does have a nice butt,’ Elpis giggles.
“Elpis,” I laugh as I step into my room. I rush into my bathroom to clean up and put on my new nightgown Mom. I mean, Charlotte got me a week ago. It’s purple with lace and hangs down to my knees.
‘Cute,’ Elpis says.
I move back into the bedroom and crawl onto the bed. It’s been a long first day home. I just want to sleep until noon tomorrow, but I know there are things to do. I pick up a remote and turn on the TV. I flip through channels until I find something to watch, winding up on old episodes of King of Queens.
I watch for several minutes, wondering what is taking Nate so long.
