Just hearing her voice on the other side of the phone was causing my heart to beat so hard I could hear it banging in my ears. It was so loud in my ears that I couldn't hear any of the phones ringing or the talking of any of the paralegals. I'm sure my already high blood pressure was probably shooting through the roof right now just because she called and said she had the results.
I looked around the room to see if anyone was looking over at me and I noticed a few eyes that would look my way and then back at their computers. They obviously heard me fumbling around trying to get my phone so having this conversation in here is probably not the best place. If only I knew how popular gossip was in this office prior to working here. I may not have accepted the job when it w
