“You’ve had your fun, Jackson,” the woman said, her tone betraying her impatience. “But now it’s time.”
It wasn’t the first time they’d had this conversation, but this time it was different. This time Jackson agreed. He’d had his fun messing with Lara’s head but now that she and Greg had reconciled and were apparently, much to his disgust, happy, he was ready to move forward with the plan.
“We should have just done it without you,” one of the men scoffed. “Why we thought we needed your help is beyond me.”
