*Theo’s POV*
When I came back into the room, I knew Merrilyn was gone. I knew she wouldn’t cross over with me in the room.
So I walk past Joel and Nic and then sit next to Merrilyn. I kiss her forehead and take her hand “it’s okay, sweetheart. You are at rest now with no more pain.”
I say, then Joel and Nicolina come and wrap their arms around me, and when they pull back, I cup Nicolina’s face.
“You need to go home and let them know, and you need rest.”
Nic nods and stands up and looks over at her mother, then kisses her and whispers, “goodbye.”
I watch Nick and Joel leave the room, and I stay by merrily n's side for a little bit longer
I take the rings off her fingers and place them in my pocket, then make sure I have all of her belongings
A nurse comes in and looks at me “
