*Nicolina’s POV*
We finished on top of the leader board for the night then go back to the bus,
Mila is asleep in Joel’s arms. She has taken to him so well, which makes my heart happy—knowing that my daughter is safe with Joel and that he is so gentle with her.
I'm excited to be competing again but nervous when my parents will be picking up Mila, and then Joel and I can focus on the competition, but I know I'm going to miss her so much.
Joel takes Mila onto the bus and changes her, then puts her to bed, and I sit outside and wait for him to come to me. I drop my head back. And look up at the stars. I close my eyes and make a wish on a shooting star. I hope that one day I can carry Joel’s child and that we will always be happy together.
