Showing Scott around the castle was pure joy. Looking at the castle through his eyes, things we had taken for granted after so many years of walking past it, like the suits of armor and the little nooks in which statues and a pot of plants might sit, the pictures on the walls, all now just blended into the unseen as you walk by. We stopped to look at them and describe who was in a picture or two and what pranks we got up to, like putting a mustache on a picture. I look forward to having more time to show him where I played as a child and seeing his reaction. I used to play Slay the Dragon with the king and his brother. It was a good childhood, one of fun and adventure, until we got older, the duties of being in the royal household took over, and our fun time was over.
