Jacob’s pov
It was an extremely sobering experience to be locked up by the Council and questioned about our actions. Before now, I didn’t really think I was doing anything wrong. I may have gone a bit far planning how to get rid of my beloved, but it is not like I acted on it.
I was shocked when only a couple of days had passed, and my dad was brought in and locked up as well. I mean, it was him that gave me the books. Hell, my potion room was initially his, so he had secrets too, I guess.
I felt bad for my mum, I hated that she was so ashamed of me, her words and the slap hurt more than any torture would. I still felt it was unfair that Cassie had tricked me into thinking she was weak. If I had known who she was, I would have given it all up for her.
