The smell of roasting meat and the sound of voices pulled me from sleep again. I tugged my clothes and boots back on and slithered out of the tent. It was dusk, and the chatter ceased as I neared the fire. “My Queen.” The subdued greeting met my ears from several men as I took a seat, rubbing my arms briskly. I had abandoned my cloak after using it under the prisoner because of the poisonous vines. “You need not be so worried. I hardly find any of you offensive enough to stab.” I say morosely and the Woodsman's great booming laugh meets my statement. “I should hope not.” He responds and claps one of his men on the back. “Go tell our future King his bride to be has arisen.
